This is especially useful for doors with narrower frames, where the cylinder is located further back. A shorter lever can be used for doors with a latch that can be activated with the thumb inside. Lever Pad A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently to the lever type handles found on most doors. The handle can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side by using two offset or inline spindles (pad). They are usually employed on UPVC double-glazed doors and come in many variations & styles. The handles have been tested to a minimum of 200k cycles and are available in a variety of finishes, including White and Silver, as well as Chrome & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle a high performance and durability for its intended purpose. They are designed to decrease the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to rotate in a different direction. This helps stop the attack and ensure your doors are secure. Certain cylinders are made to withstand snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the break line of the lock, and the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is faster and easier to achieve than opening a multipoint lock and leaves no evidence of a break-in, which can impede the insurance claim. Spring Cassette The spring cassette is located inside the base of the door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution that returns your multipoint lock handles to their normal position after using. The handles had no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. The spring cassettes were made to be used with a spring multipoint locks.
